1 Cold Finished Steel Bars?

 “Cold-finished Steel Bars” mean steel bars which are produced from hot rolled and descaled steel bars or bars in coil by going through a cold drawing or cold rolling process by means of dies, grinding, cutting or a combination of these processes to obtain smooth surfaces and improved dimensional tolerances and shapes.

2 Carbon Steel?

 “Ordinary Steel” contains iron (Fe) as a main ingredient with an addition of carbon (C), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si) and so on, and is called “rolled steel for general structure”.

3 Stainless Steel?

 “Stainless Steel” is a kind of rust-resistant alloy steel that contains iron (Fe) as a main ingredient (50% or more) and chrome (Cr) 10.5% or more.

4 Why Don't Rust?

 Because it produces a thin protective film called “passive film” on its surface in the air and water.

5 Classification of Stainless Steel

This type of stainless steel is excellent in stress corrosion cracking resistance, pitting corrosion resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance, which are the weak points of austenitic stainless steel.

This type of stainless steel can become high hard by the precipitation hardening process. It is generally less corrosion resistant than austenitic stainless steel, but better than martensitic and ferritic stainless steel and has excellent characteristics as rust-resistant and tough stainless steel.
